A Seat at the Table
Inspired by the Tuskegee Airmen. A theme I return to constantly — and one not limited to the Airmen: those who have served, especially those who have risked everything, deserve not only recognition but respect. They have more than earned their seat at the table.
At the heart of this piece is the Tarot Death card, not as an end but as a symbol of transformation. It hints at rebirth and at beating the odds. The strong hand of cards in the piece evokes both triumph and survival. Because this isn’t just history — it’s a call to reckon with the present.
